MALIBU BEACH PUBLIC ACCESS
MALIBU, CALIFORNIA
The Malibu Foundation for Environmental Education accepted the title for the Adamson Property from the California State Coastal Conservancy in the early 1990’s with the intention of providing the public with the opportunity to enjoy one of California’s most beautiful and renowned beaches.
Situated along the Pacific Coast Highway north of the town of Malibu, the hillside and beach property is subject to significant wave action and erosion and does not offer suitable public access to the beach. Vallier Design Associates, Inc., working as an On-Call Landscape Architect to the Conservancy, developed a cost-effective plan for public access to the beach, which will withstand a medium sized storm. All elements are designed to compliment the site’s shapes, colors and materials, providing an elegant and unobtrusive structure.
