RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN GUIDELINES

The Richmond Community Redevelopment Agency developed the Richmond Infill Housing Project in order to allow potential residents to purchase City-owned lots and build their own homes based on specified architectural guidelines. Vallier Design Associates, Inc. worked with the City to develop the companion Residential Landscape Design Guidelines manual.
Designed for a reader unfamiliar with plants and landscape construction, the manual provides ready-made landscape plans as well as clear instructions for the development of a unique and regionally-appropriate landscape plan. Recommended plants are low maintenance, commonly available, and suitable for the Richmond coastal environment. In addition to design guidelines, the manual also includes guidelines and instructions for the installation and maintenance of plants, irrigation and hardscape.
