VDA was commissioned by the Richmond Wholemeats Corporate Headquarters to help extend and improve the existing public access trails and surrounding bank site adjacent to the headquarters as part of the environmental standards required by the Bay Conservation & Development Department(BCBD). The deteriorating trail and bank site runs along the Meeker Ditch Shoreline from Regatta Boulevard to the City of Richmond’s 28th Street right of way.

The project proposed approximately 40,000 square feet of new and improved public access and open space as well as 17,000 square feet of irrigated landscaping. VDA developed the project documents from the schematic phase through construction documentation, permitting, and monitoring, providing trail design, existing vegetation assessment, and native species restoration.
