Authentic Eichler

The old saying that time flies by when you are having fun with friends came to mind when long term clients (now friends) contacted me to let me know that they were putting their home up for sale. It’s hard to believe that so many years have passed since their garden project was completed. Their Jones & Emmons atrium style Eichler was originally a model home for the development and it included a garden by landscape architects Robert Royston and Asa Hanamoto. The restoration of the landscape began in 2001 when the new owners discovered original landscape plans in a kitchen cabinet. The years that followed saw several phases of meticulous restoration work to both the home and garden.  CA Modern magazine wrote about the project in 2006, here is a link to that article. The attached photos, provided by Marin Modern Residential Real Estate, show the garden in a beautiful state of maturity. We have had the good fortune to work on dozens of Eichler related projects, but this one will always stand out for because of the homeowner’s steadfast commitment to authenticity.
