Last year the College Environmental Design Archives at UC Berkeley posted a wonderful exhibit that focused on the people that can often be found in architectural drawings. Such figures are included for the purpose of conveying the scale and functionality of a proposed design. Typically theses figures, sometimes called entourage or “scalies”, are simply shapes or outline forms, but from time to time they take on personalities of their own.
