Sometimes inspiration comes from unlikely places. For the new entry plaza at the Performing Art Center at Independence High School in San Jose, the starting point for the new landscape was an existing Canary Island Date Palm in desperate need of a haircut. Two more palms were added to the landscape to provide landmarks that lead the eye – and the visitor – from parking to the newly renovated theater.
